Day 01: fly to Tumlingtar and walk northwards on the long ridge above the Arun to the big Newati Bazaar of Khandbari. Rais and Chetris are living in the scattered over the slopes. The last water place below the ridge is near the houses of Bhotebas.
Day 02: start to up-wards and you will have good view of the eastern Everest group and Makalu (8470m) The path follows the main ridge to Kuapani (1800m). In the afternoon continue along the main ridge through Rhododendron forest to the new Sherpa settlement of Munche (2000m)
Day 03: downwards to Num to the suspension bridge crossing the Arun to Hedangna (1200m) Police Check Post) trial acsending the western slopes for the Arun to the pass above lrwa (1550m) you pass several Rai villages with nicely painted on the other side of the pass the river coming from Yakuwa Khola (1200m)
Day 04: follow the western side of the Arun to Lamobazar at the confluence of the Arun and the Barun on the suspension bridge upwards steeply to sempung (2100m) a compact village in habited by Bhotiyas (Tibetans living in Nepal)
Day 05: The border mountains and the Arun gorge down through beautiful forest to Hatiya (1500m). A big village situated on a terrace above the Arun gorge. Cross the Sursing Khola passing the mills upwards to Honggaon (2500m) Beautiful Bhotiya Village with wooden style houses.
Day 06/07: upwards to the popti La pass at the Tibetan border. From Honggaon to northwest wards to the ridge, continue northwards through mixed forest; to the lakes of Moiang Tsho situated above the timberline. Continue to the Popti La pss beyond chinese territory, Return the same day.
The ups and downs from Honggaon is only possible if you start very early. It is recommended to camp near the lake in order to have a good view in the morning from the pass.
Day 08/12: Return the same trial to Tumlingtar and fly back to Kathmandu.
